The first message says, ‘Well done for reading a sentence in Braille’. The second one says, ‘There are around forty million blind people in the world’.
There are six possible dots in each character, conventionally numbered:
1 4
2 5
3 6
There are 26 – 1 = 63 possible characters (we have to subtract 1, since a completely blank set is just a space).
The site www.mathsisfun.com/braille-translation.html is very handy.
