Learners could draw graphs to show the connections between the different countries’ shoe sizes. They might be able to express the connections algebraically. For example, let a = US/Canada, e = Europe, j = Japan, m = Mexico and u = UK.
Then,
e = a + 31
j = a + 16.5
m = a – 2
u = m
and so on.
Inequalities might be used to described the permissible ranges.
